Cellulite is a disturbing condition that just about every woman hates. As you probably know, cellulite is that dimpled look of he skin, those unsightly lumps in the texture of the skin from our thighs and buttocks. Finding a diet to get rid of cellulite is not easy and being careful to eat foods that burn fat and cellulite could be a bother to some of us. Just keep in mind that these are also extremely healthy food choices that might just help you even solve the causes of cellulite.
What causes cellulite and anti cellulite tips
Cellulite basically represents the build up of excessive toxins and fat in the cellulite corrupted areas. These toxins accumulate, cluster and form that appearance of the skin. There are three basic ways in which you can remove cellulite. You are going to have to start by eating better and by better I mean, eating healthier, anti cellulite foods. You're going to have to say goodbye to refined foods, fried foods, unhealthy takeouts.
You're going to have to eat more fruits and vegetables because detoxifying your body is the next step to reducing cellulite. Incorporating lean meats and whole grains will represent another good way to sustain a healthy skin. This is how you are going to provide your skin with the nutrients it needs.

Another anti cellulite remedy that I recommend is drinking a lot of clean water mixed with lemon juice is another way of getting rid of cellulite naturally and will also help you lose weight. I think it's just awesome that a simple "ingredient" like water can do so much good for us. Water increases metabolism, helping us burn some extra calories and repairs the connective tissue.
Anti cellulite foods for healthier skin
As we've already established, skin elasticity influences the degree of cellulite we suffer from. So improving skin elasticity is going to reduce cellulite, right? Right!
Food is important for our skin because our body takes from it the nutrients it needs to repair and renew some of the damaged skin cells, thus maintaining its integrity and youthfulness of course. Try to stick to this anti cellulite diet for as long as you can. Basically it's ideal to make it a lifestyle change, not just a temporary choice.
1. Fatty Fish – Tuna, Sardines, Salmon, Mackerel, Cod
Fats are healthy and there's no doubt about that. Fatty fish is extremely healthy and that's why we always recommend that you eat it at least 2-3 times a week. Fatty fish such as salmon, mackerel, tuna, cod and sardines should be a necessary component of your diet if you're looking for improving the health of your skin or your hair (and overall health, of course).
These fish varieties contain Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. These are healthy fats that keep the skin soft, pliable and supple. It gives the cell membranes a definite structure and keeps it from looking dry, scaly and inflamed. Tuna also contains a good amount of Vitamin B complex, which is also great against cellulite.
Although I do have a problem with some nuts and seeds due to their anti nutrients and omega 6 content, nuts are still a pretty good food source. The reason why they are on this healthy skin food list is because of their vitamin E and protein content. Proteins help the body to replace dead skin cells and vitamin E protects our skin from sun damage, thus preventing wrinkles and the sagging in aging skin caused by loss of elasticity. Nuts also supply the body with biotin and zinc.
Nuts are also a pretty versatile food source, you can eat nuts whole as a snack or add them to your cereal or baked goods.
3. Flax seed oil
Not as good as, but healthy nonetheless, flax seed oil could be a skin savior when fatty fish is out of your reach. Flax seed oil is a rich source of Omega 3 fatty acids and is a good option for those on a vegan diet. You can use 2 tbsp of Flax seed oil daily. If not flax-seed oil, one can use hemp oil or canola oil. This will help you get rid of cellulite by improving skin elasticity.
Avocado is a power package. It contains healthy fats, fiber and vitamin A and C. It is a commonly used ingredient in commercially available and home-made masks, giving that it rejuvenates aging skin and enhances the beauty of out complexion.
Just be careful not to eat too much avocado considering it packs a lot of calories!
One of my favorite snacks, carrots are especially good for skin health due to their beta caroten content, which is converted into vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A is important for the health of the skin as a deficiency of the vitamin causes the skin to become dry and flaky. Carrots can be eaten raw in salads or they can be eaten cooked.
6. Dark Green Leafy Vegetables
Those the sun has its benefits to our health, like the production of vitamin D, it also causes a lot of damage to our skin, stealing its moisture and causing hyper-pigmentation. Dark leafy greens are full of vitamin C (yes, even more than oranges), a vitamin that protects the skin from the damaging effects of the sun.
The skin is vulnerable to damage by the sun. The ultraviolet rays rob the skin of its moisture and at the same time cause hyper-pigmentation. Vitamin C protects the skin from the damaging effects of the sun. It also boosts the production of collagen in the body strengthening the underlying structure of the skin. Dark leafy green vegetables such as kale, cabbage, asparagus, spinach and collard contain high proportions of Vitamin C, and if you consume them daily, not only that they will make you healthy, but at the same time they are an important part of any cellulite diet.
Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable known to be a good source of antioxidants including vitamins C and E. Vitamin C aids in collagen production and helps the body utilize this structural protein effectively. Vitamin E on the other hand, protects the skin against UV radiation.
8. Berries – Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries, Blackberries
Berries are the best food you can feed yourself if you want to improve the texture, tone and flexibility of your skin, and thus, reduce your cellulite. All the members of the berry family are rich sources of antioxidants including CoQ10, Proanthocyanidins, Ellagic Acid, Glutathione, DMAE, Poly-phenols and Alpha Lipoic Acid.
They help inhibit the action of free radicals that cause severe cellular damage. Berries contribute to skin firmness and elasticity by regulating the production of two important skin proteins namely Elastin and Collagen. Without these 2, it is simply impossible to get rid of cellulite.
65% of the human body is made up of water. It is not a food in the real sense of the term, but it is one of the most essential nutrients. In addition to flushing out toxins, it plumps the skin cells giving it a supple and dewy look. Poor skin elasticity is the first indication of dehydration.
Your skin should bounce back when pinched lightly. If it doesn’t, you should step up your intake of water. Eight big glasses is the average amount of water an adult male or female should drink every day to keep away cellulite, and if you work out on a daily basis, you should drink more.
